Teaching experience:

Johannes is considered a master painter in all the leading mediums. He has had hundreds of personal students and thousands of online students. Johannes, an acclaimed international artist, has become one of the most popular art instructors in the world.

Johannes travels all over North America to give workshops and knows exactly what the universal weaknesses in paintings are, for he himself went through the same hurdles novice artists experience. His ample teaching and painting experience will help you overcome once and for all the traps most artists fall into that impede them from going up to the next level.

Johannes uses positive reinforcement because he believes there is no such thing as a bad painting because the moment there is a creation from a human it is beautiful because it expresses something. “Nothing is worse than a blank canvas”, he says.

Currently, Johannes is endorsed and teaching on behalf of F&W Media who is the publishing company of Northlight books and the world famous, The Artist’s Magazine sold in almost every book store.

Born in Mexico in 1986, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mexico City. As an avid plein- air painter, at the age of 16, he started his travels all over North America to study and interpret the effects of Nature through countless studies, in order to interpret the subject with assertiveness.

His interest is therefore mainly landscape but is very flexible in exploring other subjects (most recently European Architecture), in efforts to explore the techniques of John Singer Sargent by inquiring into how abstractly architecture can be interpreted while still maintaining the feeling of detail.

Ken firmly believes that artists have to make their work more profound beyond their whimsical impulses, by studying the Old Masters and experimenting with incorporating all of the techniques and tools available in order to say something deeply personal and unique. He paints, and sketches everyday and enjoys nothing more than a good Art talk.
